For proper Alabama tax withholding, the Alabama Annual Standard Deduction Amount and the Personal Exemption Allowance must be entered in the next to last field in each employee's record in TKT Payroll.
The Annual Standard Deduction Amount for Alabama can be found at the Alabama web site shown below:
Select the appropriate amount for each employee by using the �Schedule of Standard Deduction Amounts� shown on page 8 in the document displayed by the above web site link.
Personal Exemption Allowance is show below.
Zero Exemptions Claimed = $0
Single = $1500
Married or Head of Household = $3000
The amounts above for annual standard deduction and personal exemption allowance should be added and entered in the next to last field in the employee's record. For example, if a married employee�s annual standard deduction amount is $7500, that amount should be added to the personal exemption allowance of $3000. The total of $10500 would be entered in the next to last field in the married employee's record.
